I Have Lost My Faith In Humanity

It's been coming for years, sadly. My faith in humanity has been tested, tried, been beaten down, restored, only to be beaten down again, and tonight takes it.

The situation with the Terence Crutcher shooting has left many with raw emotion, but they are turning that emotion into hatred instead of something beneficial. I will be turning off comments for this post because I'm not about to deal with it.

What happened was a tragedy on both sides; one side lost a beloved family member, and the other lost her trust with many, and has to live with knowing she took a life for the rest of hers. So many in this ton are casting racial comments, and I'm sad to say, it's on both sides. The only thing that's going for this town is there's been no looting and no violence. It doesn't solve anything.

It hurts me to see what humanity has evolved into. It seems that each year, we take that one step closer back into the primordial ooze, and now we're back into the monkey stage. We fling our poop at anyone who makes us mad, and we make sure the world knows it. Instead of accepting someone's opinion and moving on, we take it upon ourselves to make a large issue of it, and put ourselves into it where we don't belong. This is his family's fight, and it's her fight as well. No bystander has any part in it, and they need to let it go, and let whatever happens, happen.

Be mad about, if you want. Be happy about it, if you want. However, what most people forget, is there are no winners here. They lost someone, and she lost her safety.

The big show up of Al Sharpton didn't help matters. The man only shows up to make a bigger issue out of it then what it is, and he did. Now, everyone is out for blood, and I'm not sure who is safe. Even peaceful protesters are being chased away by those who supported Crutcher. It's an awful mess, and no one cares anymore.

I'm sad to see what my town has become, and if I could, I''d leave it. I don't have the money, and my health is shit, but I wish I could just go and be done with it. I even found the house I'd move to. It's beautiful, inside and out. I absolutely love it.

I'm hoping this all smooths over soon, but their lives will never be the same.

The fight is still going on; in the comments sections of every news story, and at 2:54am, people are still out protesting. It has nothing to do with anyone, but his own family, and the woman who did it. They need to let the family do whatever they feel they need to, aside from violence, to give themselves closure. It has nothing to do with anyone, but them.

Maybe one day, people will grow and stop making everything about race.

I'm not hopeful, but I've been proven wrong before.

Stay safe everyone.
